Hi!

Wow, I haven't done much blogging since October. But the warmer weather brings the ability to get outside and paint.

Kind of hard to do that in Michigan in the winter. At least with spray paint.

I see that the amount of bloggers has quadtrippled  (is that a word? Well it is today).

I have a post that I did back in September about a end table make over. See it here. Nothing major. Really one of those I am bored makeovers.
Here is the before pictures. Which is really the before before.

This is the after of the the one above. Eh, simple boring really. I wanted something with color and life.

My husband is a gem and brings me home the oops paints. These were some pretty little Martha Stewart samples.

The Harlequin pattern is not perfect and that was intentional. I basically measured out the diamond and then painted by hand. No tape. Then I lightly sanded it away to just have a small touch of gray coming through. I put a light coat of Miniwas polyeurothane in satin on it. I love how it turned out.

I did a vase and a candle holder in the same colors that way my buyer can accessorize with them.

This is not turqiouse either it's like a seafoam green. I show that below having it up a against my turq vase.

I didn't not put the paint on thick and wanted to give it that washed look.

I actually painted it white first and the paint wouldn't stick. I had to scrape it all off and sand the crap out of it. I realized it's because it has a veneer on it. Well it's on there now but it gray.

Guess I need to get that paint off the floor. Eh, I want carpet anyway.

Just to show that these are more of a seafoam green. My turq vase is in the background.

So there you have it!

Thanks for visiting!

Good to see you all agian.

Wall sconce makeover...with lots of errors.

Happy Day!

Lookie here!

I have been busy redoing to some stuff for Ebay. But very slowly. I have pulled a muscle in my back so I have to keep taking breaks to do the heating pad.
I don't even know what I did.

A true sign of how terribly out of shape I am.
Well, I found these two wall sconces at the Goodwill in beautiful Traverse City, Mi.

They were a whopping 2.99 each. Kinda steep for me lol.

Did I mention these are a plastic/resin like material?

So comes mistake one, I used regular Krylon spray paint. Not paint meant for plastic.

The first coat went on great, but the second caused the paint to bubble up.

But I thought mmmm I bet I can get a good crackle finish. So I went and got some DecoArt crackle medium and a big bottle of Titanium white by DecoArt.

I painted the layer of white on and let it dry. Then I did the crackle and let it dry and then I did the white again and let it dry. It cracked. But not a huge amount. Its just a hint of crackle.

Mistake number two! I wanted to do a little distressing. Cool, okay but I forgot to clean the dust off before I put a coat of poly on it. lol. Woops.

So I basically sealed the dust of the paint and undercoat in the deep spots.

So that looked stupid. So I heavily glazed it and BOOM. Done!! I absolutely love the old worn look these have between the crackle and the glazing. Paired with the crystal candle holders, they rock!

These are going on Ebay. I have an Etsy that I don't use. I have 1000 positive feedback on Ebay. I have to take advantage of that :)

Check me out at

Bring-it-back-again.

Check it!

Would you call these shabby or French Chic? Or neither?

Thanks for coming by!

Relaxing Sunday. So I shabby-ed up a candleabra

Hey ya'll.

I am sorry about not doing much blogging lately. I have taken to Ebaying again.
check me out at Bring-it-back-again.

I used to sell vintage clothes but then I got a job so it's been about two years.
But guess what I have lots of stuff to sell still. Putting a little on here and there. I decided I am going to try to sell some of the things I repurpose on there as well.

On a side note, I am so freakin excited I could pee. Okay that's gross. But true lol. I was asked to make over a pie safe and cupboard, well she wanted it back to the wood look. I am not good at that. So I told her no. Anyway, she was still interested so I sent her pics from my blog and told her this is what I like to do. She liked my makeovers so much she showed her hubby and now I have been commissioned to not only makeover these items but they want me to decorated their whole office in their new home!! I am beyond excited for this!

I did a little makeover in the mist of my picture taking today.
I have had this 3 prong candelabra for a while. It's been black.

I painted it flat white today, distressed the edges and did some glazing.
I got these acrylic hanging crystals at an estate sale.

Here it is!

I will be putting this on Ebay to see what happens :)

That is all she wrote.

Thanks for visiting.

It's fall. So I made over a end table.

Well hi to you all.

The people down the street had a garage sale and I found this little end table for 4 bucks. Not that I need to bring home any more crap. Maybe I should take a picture of my dining room which is loaded to the gill with junk for a garage sale. I could be a hoarder. I see so much potential is so much of what I get but just don't have the motivation to make it all over.

After work I am tired. Bone tired. Mentally.

But I liked the style of this little table. Peeps down the street were having a sale. Thought I would check it out. Brought 4 dollars with me. This is what I bought.
I thought it had that Eames thing going on.

I needed another table for my TV room and this is the perfect size and up my alley as far as style.
My husband said it was puke bowl shaped ha ha.

Well maybe.

I kept it pretty simple this time. Some spray paint and I am done. I don't always have to be Ms. Artsy Fartsy right?

Plus this table has such a modern feel to it I wanted to stay with that.

Here is the before.
I was thinking I would do it yellow but then I decided silver metallic.

But then I didn't care for it. I don't know why but silver spray on tables to me look like. Well, spray paint. Agh!

I so I added black metallic. I likes.
Here is is. I did add a bit of black glaze to tone down that silver. YAY.

I think it will off set this one perfectly in the TV room.

Later I will show you photos of both these tables in their new home. Also, the two cool lamps I found at a thrift store for 5 dolla no holla!
The end!

Thanks for coming by.

Hiatus over!

Guess who's back, back, back again, with a project tell a friend.

That was me rapping!

Okay, I am not slim shady but I am Debbie and I am excited to be blogging again. I took a long break (4 months) spring and now summer.

Excuses? Take a look below.

My son was in baseball.

Doesn't he look excited?

We do TON of fishing on the weekends.

Plus we been to the Mackinac Bridge this summer.

And kayaking at my friends cottage!

There ya go my excuse :)

Oh and lets not forget work.

Plus, I have been lazy.

Is that an oxymoron? Lol...
Well enough rambles, when the creative bug strikes, it strikes and of course I want to share.

HIGH FIVE!!!

So my big secret is. I found a secret stash of Krylon paint! I loves me some Krylon. The colors are killa!

You ready to hear how much a can?

$1.99

Yep, that's right not a typo.

Can you believe? It's hard to leave that store without a few of every color they have.

I worked on this little project Sunday and it only took a little bit. In fact I had time to fix up an ottoman to, I will post that later.

This was given to me. It was in my kitchen as a microwave stand forever. I put it in the basement for the last year. I decided this would be an easy redo with spray paint. Since I didn't really want to get into a complicated project.

Yeah, I still take craptastic pictures on my junky little GE camera. Not to mention I didn't even put the drawers back in. This by the way is my little area I work in the basement. We are getting it set up for me. YAY! It will be a little work shop. Cool huh? I would rather have the garage but the hubby apparently disagrees.

I started with white. Didn't like it. Not because it's white but because it was flat white and it didn't look good on this.

Now it's Krylon Brushed Nickel.
I used some DecoArt black ebony for the scrolls in the front.

Lightly sanded it all. Then I rubbed on a Deco glaze.By the way old socks are great for this task. But you want to wash them first <----- lame joke.

Roughed up the edges a bit, threw on my Goodwill knobs that was about 30 cents for a bag of 10 and BLAMO!

A great little table for my fishy and coffee filter lampshade lampy redo

It's all sortsa girly.

Plus with the extra drawer space I can get the nasty bills and such off my desk. AGH. I hate that look.

Check it out!

Pretend this one is brushed nickel :)

This is my fave. Decoart. Need I say more.

Here here she is. The glaze is very light. Just added a small touch of antique to it.

My fishy likes it :) haha.

I have been peaking in on all your projects over the last few months! You talented bloggers you.

I am happy to be back at it.

I hope you will join me
Take care.

Lampshade makeover and lamp base makeover using this!!! Check it.

Howdy!

I sure have missed you guys. I have sort of been missing in action. It is spring in Michigan. My son is in baseball now and life is good.
I hope you are all doing great.

Here is a little project I came up with.

Here is the finished project for those that are impatient like me.
I found this cute little milk glass lamp base and shade at a thrift for 8 dollars. I just wanted  a milk glass lamp. I didn't really want the shade. So of course I thought PROJECT.

I found some coffee filters at a thrift store for 3 dollars. The filters are literally big enough to use in God's coffee pot. They are HUGE.
The the idea came. I need to do a project with these on a lampshade.

Check it out.

Below is the lampshade before and check out the coffee filters. I know right?

I knew I didn't feel like painting the lampshade. But I didn't want the blue to come through. My son offered up the help and he painted that whole thing for me with white acrylic Deco Art.

See it all painted. He did great.
So I took the filters and cut about two inch sections out. I got about 2 sections per row. They actually were long enough for the most part to wrap all the way around. Plus they had natural ruffles. Bonus.

I just hot glued each piece on. Here is she finished. I didn't care for the wood look with the milk glass so I spray painted that with Krylon of course.

I don't care for the edge though. I need to figure something out for there. Any ideas?

I had to take all the pieces apart and put the lamp back together. I didn't want to tape off the glass. Plus it was a good learning experience about the inner workings of a lamp.

I love her.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

If you are a follower I would love to have ya along.
Take care.

Linky Love Friday #7 on a Saturday! And my feature.

Well, I knew I forget to post a link party last night.

I want to thank all who posted. I am sorry I just don't have the time to come comment on all your posts. Especially with all the extra typing and my stinky pinky lol.

I got sidetracked with my friend and son and went out to have some fun at a Chucky Cheese type place. You know, the one where you spend oodles of money so they can win tickets to by a piece of candy that would normally cost $1.00 in the store is now $15.00 because you have 175 tickets to buy it? lol. Yeah, that placem.
We had a great time.

It has been a few weeks since I posted a link party. I am finally getting my typing on again.
I haven't been doing any projects. The weather here is still hovering at the winter level. The spray paint can says don't use below 50 degrees. Grrrrr. That makes it rough when it is only 42 degrees.

Anyone know if it will still work?
I have a gorgeous milk glass lamp I can't wait to re-do. The spray paint is calling my name.

Here is my favorite project from a few weeks ago. Speaking of milk glass. Check out what the talented Jenn over at Flea With Me

did with this milk glass lamp. I love the idea of the white pearls.

Check her out! Loves.

So, I missed the last to weeks of links. Yikes, so I thought I would throw one up today. Friday link love on a Saturday. Why not?

Let's roll!

Link Rules.

1. I would love for you to follow me, but I won't make you to be in my party, but it is common courtesy to like the hostess of your link party.

MIA----pinky still hurt and a linky party later today

Hi friends, well if you follow me on facebook you will know that I hurt my pinky finger two weeks ago. Thus, making it difficult to type and especially do projects.

I bet you want to know how it happened?

Have I ever told you what a clutz I am? Did you know I was one of the most athletic girls in high school and I could play softball and volleyball great! However, I can walk up a flight of steps.
YOU GOT IT!
I fell up the steps. lol..

Went to catch myself and my pinky jammed into the molding on the wall. I do believe I tore a few ligaments. I haven't went to the doctors because why? I will wait it out and see what happens.
Anyway, I want to do a linky party this evening since I was hurting last week and couldn't do it.

I get sidetracked on Fridays. If you are one of my regulars please remind me this evening lol!.
Have a great weekend everyone.
